ASEER TOURISM ACCOMMODATION DEMAND MODEL
Aseer Tourism Accommodation Demand
Estimate future accommodation requirements and distribute the regional requirement across Aseer’s five SDAs using editable demand and planning factors.
What this simplified model answers
How many accommodation keys may be required in a selected future year and how the resulting regional requirement may be distributed across Aseer’s five SDAs.
Conceptual use
This is a simplified scenario-planning model. Replace the illustrative inputs and SDA scores with verified tourism statistics, planning evidence, market data, and agreed assumptions before formal use.
Project visitor demand and calculate required keys
The model converts projected visits into commercial room nights, then estimates the accommodation capacity required at the selected annual occupancy. A peak-period test can also be applied.
A. Visitor projection assumptions
B. Accommodation conversion assumptions
C. Existing supply
Regional calculation
Allocate future tourism demand across the five SDAs
Enter or review a score for each SDA against tourism pull, accessibility, infrastructure readiness, seasonality, supply gap, and strategic role. The model combines the scores using the stated weights and normalizes the results into SDA shares totalling 100%. The default scores are placeholders for conceptual testing and should be replaced with project evidence or an agreed expert assessment.
Enter and review SDA factor scores
| SDA | Demand | Attractions | Accessibility | Infrastructure | Seasonality | Supply gap | Strategic role | Capacity multiplier | Weighted score |
|---|
Advanced: edit SDA factor weights
| Factor | Weight | Purpose |
|---|
Review the regional and SDA-level results
The simplified dashboard reports the regional accommodation requirement and the resulting share, gross requirement, and net additional keys for each of Aseer’s five SDAs.
Net additional keys by SDA
Distribution of the regional net requirement using the Step 2 SDA shares.
Detailed SDA results
| SDA | Share of Aseer allocation | Gross required keys | Net new keys |
|---|
Methodology and audit notes
Uses the baseline, strategic anchor target, and post-anchor growth assumption to estimate visits and convert them into required keys.
Uses user-entered weighted SDA scores to distribute the regional requirement across the five SDAs.
