The first round of Celebrate Your Local Jane Jacobs in Amman created an important workshop space to meet participants and engage with a remarkable range of community-led projects from across the region, including Algeria, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Palestine, Syria, and Yemen. The gathering highlighted inspiring models of local action addressing social, environmental, and urban challenges through direct engagement with communities. What stood out most was the shared sense that this work extended far beyond professional responsibilities, becoming a genuine purpose and long-term commitment to creating more inclusive, resilient, and caring societies.
