The El Sheikh El Shazli project focuses on planning and environmental design through a constellation-based approach to camping, responding to patterns of visitation, seasonal events, and spiritual gatherings. The project organizes camping units, shared facilities, and landscape elements as interconnected clusters that minimize environmental impact while accommodating varying intensities of use. A community center forms the social and organizational core, supporting local activities, visitor services, and collective events, while reinforcing the relationship between community life, ritual practices, and the surrounding natural environment.
